Senggigi Beach is a famous tourist spot in Lombok. Located on the west coast of the island of Lombok. Senggigi beach is not as big as Kuta Beach in Bali, but once we were here will feel like being at Kuta Beach, Bali. Coastal beaches are still beautiful, although there is still littered with garbage because the leaves are still rarely cleaned.

Underwater scenery is very beautiful, and tourists can do snorkeling as much because the waves are not too large. Into middle towering coral reefs causing large waves breaking in the middle. There are also hotels with varying prices, from the expensive to the hotel economically worthwhile

Lombok Island

Lombok Island (population in 2001: 2,722,123 inhabitants) is an island in the Lesser Sunda Islands or Nusa Tenggara are separated by the Straits of Lombok and Bali in the west Side Alas Strait to the east of Sumbawa. The island is approximately round with a sort of “tail” on the southwest side whose length is approximately 70 km. This island wide reach 5435 km ², placing it as  108 from the list of islands by area in the world. The main town on the island is Mataram.

Lombok Strait marks the boundaries of flora and fauna of Asia. Starting from the island of Lombok to the east, flora and fauna shows more resemblance to the flora and fauna are found in Australia than Asia . The scientist who first stated this is Alfred Russel Wallace, an Englishman in the 19th century. To honor this limit is called the Wallace Line.

Pendet

Pendet was originally a dance of worship which was exhibited in many temples, places of worship of Hindus in Bali, Indonesia. This dance symbolizes welcoming the gods fall into the natural world. Gradually, over the times, the artists transform Pendet to “welcome”, but still contains elements of the sacred-religious. Creator / choreographer of modern dance is a form of I Wayan Rindi.

Pendet is a statement in the form of an offering ritual dances. Unlike dances performances that require intensive training, Pendet be danced by all people, pemangkus men and women, adults and girls.

This dance is taught simply by following the movement and rarely done in the hamlets. The young girl followed the movements of the more senior women who understand their responsibilities in providing a good example.
