What I want to write here is a little note on my personal experience when, in May 2010 and had the opportunity to tour the Iguazu National Park. One part of my entourage travel in the Southern United States, Argentina, and Brazil.

Iguazu name mentioned / written in three versions in Argentina and Brazil the day-to-day language of Spanish and Portuguese; addition to Iguazu, Iguassu designations are also used, and Iguaçu. Cataratas do Iguaçu, meaning Iguazu Falls in Portuguese.

Iguazu River, the location of Iguazu Falls is a river that also functions as a sign of the border between Argentina with Brazil.

This waterfall can be compared to Niagara Falls on the border between the United States State New York with the Canadian Province of Ontario. Iguazu Falls is actually even greater and unique than Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls reaches a maximum height of 51 meters, while the Iguazu Falls reaches a maximum height of 82 meters, the width of the farthest distance is 2.7 miles.

Uniqueness typical Iguazu Falls waterfall that no other similar big is he two-tiered, with a large size and nearly the same height. So, there Iguazu river water that falls in the form of a giant waterfall into the river below with a height of about 60 meters to 80 meters. Then rushing to then fall again to the river below again with almost the same width and height. Forming a very beautiful view. Especially when viewed from a distance, either by river below, or through the air.

Yes, the scenery stunning Iguazu Falls can be seen apart from the two countries: Argentina and Brazil, also can be done in three ways: by land, by foot to get to the bridge in the right special waterfall. Through the river, using a special boat (speed boat), and through the air in a helicopter. With only helicopter in Brazil.

Our tour group first visited the Argentina side.

This location is so kilometers from Buenos Aires. I forget how many hours of travel time by bus from Buenos Aires. Probably about 3 hours.

In tourist park, to reach waterfall location with the best view is to enter the area known as the Garganta del Diablo, or “Devil’s throat”. Because of its shape like a throat devil. So visible when viewed from the air, according to our tour guide,. Somehow wear frills “devil”. Did they ever see the devil had throat?

To reach the site, reached by train, called Rainforest Ecological Train, traveling as far as 1,100 meters. Then proceed to walk as far as 600 meters. Once on the river, there is an iron bridge for pedestrians stretching over approximately 500-1000 meters along the river again to reach the waterfall location; arrived at Garganta del Diablo.

This is where we see incredible scenery from Iguazu Falls. From the bridge we immediately look down at a distance of only about 1-2 meters scenery was amazing and terrible. With the sound of the water was deafening roar, and the giant waves of water that falls from a height of 80-meter. Because of the severity of the blows of this waterfall climb up past the height above the surface of the river. Lasting continuously blows formed a view that covers the white fog waterfall scenery. Then somewhat subsided again, up again, and so on. Bottom of the river is not at all visible.
